# Point-to-Point Measure

1. Under the *Analyse* icon, click *Point-to-Point Measure*
2. Select two entities in the model. The shortest distance between these entities will be displayed.

3. (optional) Enable the *Vertical* mode in the command center. Now the shortest vertical distance between the two selected entities will be displayed.

4. (optional) Select another entity. This new entity will now be checked against the entity you selected *last*. You can not have more than two entities selected during this procedure, so the first selected entity will automatically be unselected.
5. It is also possible to measure the shortest distance between *sub*entities, i.e. faces, edges and vertices. To do this, enable [Deep Select](/documentation/qonic-application/basics/navigation-and-selection/selection-modes.md#deep-select) mode and click the faces, edges and/or vertices you want to measure the distance between. Your selection can be a mix of any of these (sub)entities.
