# Sections and Scope
Cut through your model with section planes and section boxes, open floor plans and elevations, and limit what is visible with the scope.
Use sections and the scope to focus on part of your model. You find both in the toolbar on the right-hand side of the screen, and in the right-click menu. A green dot on the *Section* or *Scope* button shows that a section or a scope is active.
## Sections
### Section Plane
1. Click the *Section* button in the right-hand toolbar and choose *Section*, or press Ctrl Shift E.
2. Click a face in the model. The section plane is placed at that point, aligned with the face.
3. (optional) Use the manipulator to move or rotate the section plane.
4. Click *Apply* or press Enter. To remove the section plane instead, click *Cancel* or press Esc.
### Section Box
1. (optional) Select the products you want to focus on.
2. Click the *Section* button and choose *Box section*, or press Ctrl Shift X. If products are selected, the section box is fitted around them. Otherwise, click a face in the model to place the box.
3. (optional) Drag the handles on the faces of the box to resize it, and use the manipulator to move or rotate it.
4. Click *Apply* or press Enter.
### Editing and Clearing a Section
While a section is active, the *Section* menu shows:
* *Edit section*: change the active section plane or box with the manipulator. You can also press the shortcut of the active section type again. Click *Cancel* or press Esc to keep the section as it was.
* *Clear section*: remove the active section.
### Floor Plans and Elevations
Use *Project Sections* in the *Section* menu to open a predefined section of your project:
* **Floor plans**: one section box per storey of the building, listed from the highest storey down.
* **Elevations**: the *North*, *East*, *South* and *West* elevations of the building.
These sections are based on the buildings and storeys in your models. If the project contains several buildings, each building has its own floor plans and elevations. Hover over a floor plan or elevation to preview it, and click it to apply it.

## Scope
Use the scope to hide everything except the products you are working on. Select one or more products, click the *Scope* button in the right-hand toolbar and choose:
* *Set as Scope* +: only the selected products remain visible.
* *Remove from Scope* -: the selected products are hidden.
* *Reset Scope* \*: the whole model is visible again.
The menu only shows the options that apply to your current selection and scope.

Press 0 to go to the *Home View*. This resets the scope, clears the section and the selection, and zooms out so that the entire model is visible again.
