# Grids

To enable building grids, click the *Grid* visualization toggle in the right-hand toolbar.

If your project contains any grids, they will now be visually displayed. By default the grid will only be displayed on the ground floor of the building. It will be partially obscured by geometry in front of it but still visible so that you have a visual reference.

When interacting with geometry on a different floor of the building, e.g. snapping to a floor slab to create new geometry, the grid will *automatically be projected* to this floor slab for easy reference. You can now snap to intersections of the projection of this grid.

When performing a modeling operation along a specific axis (e.g. Push/Pull or Transform), grid axes in a plane perpendicular to the motion will be *automatically* counted as a possible snap target. Visit [this page](/documentation/qonic-application/modeling/snapping.md) for more information on snapping.
