# Offset

1. Under the *Chalk* icon, click the *Offset* button or use the <kbd>F</kbd> shortcut&#x20;
2. Hover your cursor over a face, edge or chalk curve
3. (optional) If hovering over a face, hit the <kbd>Tab</kbd> key to select a closed boundary between edges and/or chalk curves
4. Left click to select the face, edge, chalk curve or boundary
5. (optional) Click more entities to add to your selection set
6. Click and drag the arrowhead to specify a direction and distance to offset
7. (optional) Enter a precise value in the distance field
8. Press Enter or left-click to accept
