Laser Measure

Measure distances easily using the laser tool.

  1. Under the Analyze icon, click Laser
  2. Left-click any surface to place the laser origin. From this location, a visible laser line will be shot in the local X- and Y-directions along the indicated surface. The laser line will continue along the surface, even across multiple parts if these parts have surfaces aligned with the indicated face. If available, a laser line perpendicular to the indicated face (local Z-direction) will be shot towards the nearest object.
  3. Left-click any surface to place the laser origin in a new location, or grab the laser origin by left-clicking and holding, and drag it around for precise placement.

Note: the direction of the laser lines is based on a local analysis of the geometry, and in case of rectangular surfaces with straight angles the laser lines should always align with this surface. For more complex geometry (e.g. a pentagon), you can redirect the laser lines by moving the laser origin close to the edge you want to align with.
