Chalk Curve
Draw temporary chalk curves on objects to use in other tools.
A chalk curve is a temporary line or arc that can be drawn on objects or on the XY-plane. To create a chalk curve:
Click the Chalk icon
Hover your cursor over a face or on the XY-plane
Left click, hold and move the cursor to start drawing
Release the mouse button to accept
(optional) Repeat to create more curves
(optional) Hover over a curve until it gets highlighted with a thick black line, and click it to start editing. Use either of the end grips to move the start- or endpoint of the curve, or click the middle grip to turn a line into a curve
A chalk curve can be selected and deleted using the Deep Select mode.
To edit a curve, you need to start the Chalk tool first.
Chalk curves in Qonic differ from classic CAD lines and arcs in that they are:
Temporary: in the current implementation, chalk curves are stored in the session, meaning that they will be gone after you close Qonic.
Associative with its host: the curves stick to the surface you drew them on. If you move, modify or delete the host object, the chalk curve will move or be deleted accordingly.
